On May 26-27, the third “Famous City Four Schools” architecture joint graduation design, jointly held by Chang’an University, Qingdao University of Technology, Soochow University and Xiamen University, conducted online final defense. The defense tutor team consists of ten experts and scholars from four universities. Under the guidance of Li Ling and Wang Jiawei, 8 students in our school completed the relevant results of the joint design and participated in the online defense.
2020 “Famous City Four Schools” online final defense
The joint graduation project of “Famous City Four Schools” is host by the school of architecture and civil engineering of Xiamen University. The design title is "Visitor Center of Nanjiang Village (Nanxi Tulou) in Yongding". This topic involves traditional village tourism development, cultural heritage protection, regional architectural design and ecological environment restoration, etc. Through focusing on the overall environment of Nanjiang village and the protection, renewal, development of Tulou, the comprehensive benefits of cultural tourism industry of Nanjiang village can be improved. The design includes two parts: general planning of the village and architecture design of the visitor center.

Due to epidemic, the joint graduation project was conducted online from the opening ceremony, mid-term to the final defense. With the efforts of teachers and students of the four universities, it still achieved good teaching results. The design results are rich, diverse and creative, with a prominent cross-border and composite trend. There are not only works focusing on the single building, but also the achievements of both the overall area and the building. More attention is paid to the whole design process from architectural programming, general planning to architecture design. Also, the design works show the different styles and characteristics of each university.
