1. General Description

With in-depth academic research on architecture and environment, the major of architecture aims to summarize architectural activity and experience of human beings, study rules and methods of architectural activities, and optimize living environment to satisfy people's needs. Classified to engineering category, Architecture Major is an inter-discipline subject of engineering and art integrating construction experience and design approaches, which focuses on applying existing experience and approaches to new design to provide a better building environment. In a broad sense, the subject of architecture includes planning and design for building and building complex, indoor and outdoor environment, human settlement, cities, towns and villages, as well as landscape architecture, building technology and the research of architectural history and theory. Students will both learn the knowledge of engineering technology and receive the training of artistic design and expression skills during thestudy.


The subject of Architecture will cultivate high-level professional talents with wide knowledge, solid foundation, high comprehensive and professional quality as well as creativity, who are also well developed in moral, intellectual, fitness and aesthetic perception, to meet the requirements of China’s socialist modernization. 3. Basic Requirements

(1). Urban and Rural Planning plays a critical role in national economy and social development. This major undertakes the responsibility of cultivating professionals in urban and rural construction, regional development and urbanization, social services in urban and rural areas, andurban and rural physical form planningand management.This major is a branch discipline of architecture under engineering, which is also known as the first level discipline under higher education for engineering.It sticks to the idea of sustainable development, and targets at harmonious development of society, economy and environment. This major cultivates the future-oriented compound landscape architecture professional talents who have socialist core values, a high sense of social responsibility and mission, adapts to the needs of national strategic development, has a solid basic knowledge of landscape architecture, outstanding planning and design skills and engineering practice skills, and is full of social responsibility and teamwork spirit; also who has the ability of innovation, practice, organization and management, and can be competent for the planning of land and space, the construction of urban and rural human settlements, ecological protection and restoration.

The specific training objectives are as follows:
