The opening ceremony of 2023 "Silk Road Landscape" University Joint graduation design work camp and design competition sponsored by the School of Architecture, Chang'an University was successfully held in the lecture hall of Xiaozhai Campus of Chang 'an University on the morning of February 28, 2023. The participating institutions are: Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology, Chang'an University, Inner Mongolia University of Technology, Inner Mongolia University of Science & Technology, Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, Soochow University, Xi'an University of Technology, a total of more than 60 teachers and students (18 teachers, more than 40 students).
Opening Ceremony
The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Bai Hua, Vice Dean of School of Architecture, Chang'an University. On behalf of Chang'an University, Professor Bai Hua first extended a warm welcome to the teachers, students and special guests from the seven universities participating in the Joint graduation design work camp. Then, according to the theme of the joint graduation design of "Rural planning and design of the core protection area of Xi'an University Ruins Area", the site selection basis, the topic selection idea and the overall arrangement of the joint graduation design were introduced.

Second Part: Guest speech. First of all, Professor Dong Ludi reviewed the original intention of the "Silk Road Landscape" joint graduation design, shared his unique views on this topic, and expressed his expectations for the study and exchange of this joint graduation design and made a proposal mobilization.

After that, Professor Chen Wenliang shared the research results of Chang'an City Site Protection Area of Han Dynasty. The students were introduced to the general situation of the large site area, the people's livelihood problems in the Han Chang'an Site area, the general situation of the people's livelihood development of typical villages in the Han Chang'an Site from the perspective of spatial dimension, and the relevant planning strategies were provided from the two aspects of "site protection and urban development coordination" and "Site protection and rural revitalization coordination", which opened up the design and research ideas for the students.

At this point, the opening ceremony was successfully concluded, all teachers and students took a group photo, and the third "Silk Road Landscape" joint graduation design was officially kicked off.

After a short break at noon, the teachers and students of each school took a bus to the Han Chang'an City Site and Zhangjiaxiang Village for research. Then they went to Zhangjiaxiang Party and Group Service Center and had a talk with the village leaders to understand the current situation of the village and the future development plan. After that, under the leadership of three village cadres, the teachers and students of each school mixed into three teams of research teams to investigate the site.
Site Survey
The site selection of this joint graduation design is the Han Chang'an City Site area in Xi 'an City. Facing the great impact and opportunity of The Times, it aims to build a standardized and beautiful village with moderate scale, perfect facilities, industrial development, convenient life, orderly management and ecological livable. For Zhangjiaxiang Village, which is located in the basic farmland protection zone and the natural and cultural heritage protection zone, it is expected that the teachers and students of each school will plan and design the village renovation plan for the harmonious coexistence of villagers and ruins in the site area.
