In order to further stimulate the learning interest of first-year students of architecture and help them gain an intuitive understanding of the profession in practice, the first-year teaching group of the School of Architecture organized all students to go to the Xi'an Glodon Digital Building for practical teaching on December 8 and 22, 2023. The Xi'an Glodon Digital Building integrates digital design methods throughout the entire life cycle of building design, construction and operation and maintenance, which is an important practice in the field of digital architecture.
The students visited the atrium space, work area and rest area of the building in turn, and observed closely the environmentally friendly and low-carbon green building technology, digital office system and intelligent management system used in the building design, construction, operation and maintenance process ; they realized the subtle influence of design on people in the building and their behavior. Through the embodied experience in the building and the explanation of the staff, the students were deeply attracted by the application of digital technology in the building, and deeply felt the guidance of digital technology on architectural design and the combination of architectural intelligence and behavior.
The addition of practical teaching sessions is an important measure in the 2023 "Basics of Architectural Design" course reform. A series of practical teaching sessions are organized with the themes of "Understanding Typical Cities, Buildings, and Landscape Spaces" and "Visiting Famous Companies in the Industry". The practical teaching conducted in the Xi'an Glodon Digital Architecture Building has given students a clearer understanding of the major and generated a strong interest in the combination of digital technology and architectural design.
