On the morning of July 9, Xiao Hu, a tenured professor from the College of Art and Architecture at the University of Idaho, visited the School of Architecture at Chang'an University. During the visit, he had an in-depth and productive meeting with Professor Hou Quanhua, Dean of the School of Architecture; Professor Liu Qibo, Vice Dean; Associate Professor Chen Siliang, Head of the Department of Architecture; Professor He Wenfang; and Associate Professor Zhang Lei. This meeting marked the first official in-person gathering between the two institutions in nearly five years and laid a solid foundation for the future deepening of cooperation in teaching, research, and international collaboration.
Meeting Scene
During the meeting, both parties reviewed their past cooperation and, based on their recognition of existing achievements, discussed the vast potential for future collaboration. The two sides engaged in detailed and in-depth discussions on core issues such as teaching reform, curriculum development, and professional practice for undergraduate and graduate programs in architecture. The aim is to continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of international joint education efforts and enhance both institutions' competitiveness and influence in architectural education domestically and internationally. Additionally, both sides expressed a strong desire to jointly apply for national and international research projects and establish mechanisms for practical collaboration.
This in-depth exchange between the School of Architecture at Chang'an University and the College of Art and Architecture at the University of Idaho provides more diverse international exchange opportunities for faculty and students, fostering academic ideas exchange and integration. It will further promote the deep cooperation and win-win development of both institutions in a broader range of fields, advancing the internationalization of the School of Architecture and enhancing its global influence and competitiveness.
