On the afternoon of December 27, the award ceremony of the 14th Huang Jinzhi Civil Engineering and Architecture Scholarship and the 9th Huang Jinzhi Civil Engineering and Architecture Postgraduate Fellowship of Chang'an University was held in the Multi-Functional Hall on the 3rd Floor of Chang'an Culture and Art Center at the North Campus.

More than 200 people, including all award-winning teachers and students, counselors from the two schools (the School of Civil Engineering and the School of Architecture) and student representatives, participated in the ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Xing Guohua, Dean of the School of Civil Engineering.

In his speech, Chen Jianxun extended a warm welcome and sincere thanks to Professor Huang Jinzhi and all guests. He introduced the university's achievements in talent cultivation, scientific research, social services and other aspects, reviewed the implementation of Huang Jinzhi Scholarship and Huang Jinzhi Postgraduate Fellowship, and highly praised the benevolent deeds of alumni represented by Professor Huang Jinzhi who cared about the teachers and students of their alma mater. In his speech, Professor Huang Jinzhi sincerely congratulated the award-winning teachers and students, affectionately reviewed the original intention and significance of the establishment of the foundation, and expressed his expectations for the award winners. He encouraged the award winners to work hard, develop innovative thinking, improve interdisciplinary capabilities, and grow into outstanding innovative talents. He hoped that both parties would work together to build the foundation into an international, Chinese-characteristic and sustainable development foundation.

Huang Jinzhi, born in 1941 in Putian, Fujian Province, is a professor, doctoral supervisor and expert enjoying special government allowances of the State Council. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from the Department of Civil Engineering, Tongji University from 1960 to 1965, and obtained a master's degree in Structural Engineering from Tongji University from 1965 to 1967. From 1967 to 1979, he worked in design, construction and scientific research institutions. From 1979 to 1984, he served as the first Dean of the Department of Civil Engineering, Northwest Institute of Architectural Engineering. From 1984 to 2006, he was the first Dean of the restored Department of Civil Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Vice Dean of the School of Civil Engineering and Mechanics. He was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 1985 and promoted to Professor in 1990. He has taught 6 courses for undergraduates and postgraduates, and cultivated more than 60 master's students, doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows. He has engaged in research on engineering structures and engineering management, won awards such as the Second Prize of Science and Technology Progress of the State Education Commission, published more than 200 papers, and compiled and edited 9 works. He once served as Chairman and Honorary Chairman of Shanghai Jiantong Company, Shanghai Lujiazui Design Institute and Shanghai Zhongchen Design Institute. Currently, he is the Chairman of Shanghai Huang Jinzhi Education Development Foundation.
