On April 29, the School of Architecture held a launch meeting for the preparation of undergraduate education evaluation of the Urban and Rural Planning major in the conference room on the 3rd floor of the Architecture Building in the West Courtyard of the South Campus. The meeting fully deployed the preparation work for the professional evaluation, further improved the quality of professional education, and ensured that the evaluation would be passed with excellent results. Jia Kan, Secretary of the Party Committee; Hou Quanhua, Dean; members of the school's leadership team; heads of various departments (centers); and all teachers of the Urban and Rural Planning Department attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Bai Hua, Vice Dean.

Jia Kan put forward four requirements for the preparation work to meet the education evaluation. First, adequate understanding. All staff of the school should unify their thinking, build consensus, and form a strong joint force for work. Second, comprehensive content coverage. We should promote construction and reform through evaluation, closely integrate the evaluation preparation work with professional construction and discipline development, and continuously improve the school's overall school-running level and talent training quality. Third, solid implementation. Members of each group should carefully organize and make thorough arrangements in the evaluation preparation work, and complete all preparation tasks with high quality in strict accordance with the time nodes. Fourth, positive spirit. All faculty and staff of the school and all teachers of the Urban and Rural Planning Department should make high-quality preparations for the expert campus audit and evaluation focusing on key modules such as the evaluation index system, professional construction, and teaching content.

Hou Quanhua made an in-depth analysis of the great significance of this undergraduate education evaluation of the Urban and Rural Planning major. He emphasized that the evaluation is not only a comprehensive inspection of the professional school-running level, but also a key opportunity to promote the school's teaching reform and improve the quality of talent training, which is related to the long-term development of the school and the major in the future. He required all teachers to attach great importance to it, actively participate in the evaluation preparation work, and ensure that all work is solidly advanced with a rigorous and pragmatic attitude and a highly responsible spirit.
Dean Hou Quanhua Delivers a Speech
Bai Hua explained the Work Plan for Undergraduate Education Evaluation of Urban and Rural Planning Major in detail. He pointed out that in accordance with the relevant requirements of professional evaluation, this work will systematically sort out the school's relevant construction achievements from 2019 to 2025. Each working group needs to clearly understand their job responsibilities and task arrangements, and ensure that all preparation tasks are assigned to specific persons and implemented solidly.
This launch meeting marks the official and comprehensive start of the undergraduate education evaluation work of the Urban and Rural Planning major. Taking this as an opportunity, the school will improve the standards and norms for talent training quality, solidly promote various work, make every effort to improve the professional education level, and strive to pass the evaluation with excellent results.
