On June 10, 2025, the 5th National Undergraduate Industrialized Architecture and Smart Construction Competition concluded successfully at Dalian University of Technology. Guided by the Architectural Society of China (ACS), the Industrialized Architecture Committee of the ACS, the BIM Branch of the ACS, Southeast University, Dalian University of Technology, and the China Academy of Building Research Co., Ltd., and organized by Dalian University of Technology and Beijing Gouli Technology Co., Ltd., the competition, which lasted three months, attracted over 300 teams from over 40 universities nationwide, with nearly 2,000 students and faculty participating. Divided into six tracks, 72 teams advanced to the finals.
This year's competition, themed "Smart Construction and the Coordinated Development of New Building Industrialization," aims to achieve "digitalization, intelligence, industrialization, and greening" in the construction industry. It covers multiple disciplines, including architecture, structure, HVAC, water supply and drainage, electrical engineering, management, automation, the Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence. It explores innovative practices in areas such as "intelligent design, intelligent construction, smart operation and maintenance, green and low-carbon development, building industrialization, and intelligent construction management."
Given the unique characteristics of the "Green and Low-Carbon Building Planning and Design" track and the competition's "informatization, industrialization, greening, and intelligence" requirements, the School of Architecture attached great importance to the competition, planning ahead, organizing multiple teams to participate, and providing the necessary technical guidance and material support. Ultimately, five teams advanced to the finals. The "Teams" team, coached by Professor Liu Wei; the "Young Pioneers" team, coached by Professors Xie Gengfang, Ma Xuan, Wang Qiong, and Li Ling; and the "Feeling Like a Team" team, coached by Professors Zhang Lei and Wang Jiawei, won first prize. The "I Love CHU" team, coached by Professors Liu Qibo and Ren Juan; and the "Blue Hair Team" team, coached by Professors Chen Siliang and Wang Xiaomin, won second prize. The School of Architecture received the Outstanding Organization Award.
